Abstract:
The article examines the current state of the e-commerce industry in Russia. The sector shows growth and, unlike many other industries, even steadily growing under the pandemic. According to the author, due to the increasing Internet activity of citizens the turnover of the e-commerce market will only grow even with the real incomes reduction in the future. The distinctive features of the Russian market, such as the presence of national competitive market players and the increased attention of the government, are given. An assessment of the most relevant global trends and risks of e-commerce growth, with the Russian specifics, is given, e.g., a change in the format of stores; a massive transition to online, and the flexible delivery development.
