Abstract:
The global obesity epidemic is a contemporary challenge to which national governments and international organizations are forced to respond. At various levels in the scientific and business communities the relationship between trade liberalization, trade agreements and obesity has become an increasing concern. Despite the existence of a number of empirical studies of this relationship, there are still methodological issues that do not allow to unequivocally confirm the thesis that trade and trade policy lead to undesirable results in the field of nutrition.
