Abstract: Today’s international arms and military equipment trade has become more volatile and irresponsible and contributes to the maintenance of conflicts in many regions of the world; this trade is poorly regulated resulting in increasing migration, human rights violations and poverty. Under the conditions of the current special military operation, the problems of uncontrolled deliveries of weapons, including through illegal channels, have become aggravated. The article assesses the possibilities of international legal regulation of arms and military equipment exports at the present time, as well as analyzes the key aspects and issues of supporting exports at the national level, in particular, using the example of the United States as the largest arms exporter.
