Abstract: The authors analyze the importance of international trade for the economy of Tajikistan and the improvement of living standards in the country. Tajikistan remains one of the poorest countries in Central Asia and the development of trade with the expansion of exports has a direct positive effect on its people. The authors identify two important channels through which trade contributes to improving the well-being of the population. Moreover, the article examines the main trade barriers that exist in Tajikistan.
