Abstract:
One of the fundamental objectives of revitalization of Russia’s exports is to search for new partners and channels to interact with them. Latin American countries can be considered Russia’s promising foreign partners, albeit not playing a significant role in its trade. However, cooperation with these countries is constrained largely by the limited Russian business presence on the continent. One of the ways to solve this problem may be the use of special economic zones (SEZs) operating in various countries of Latin America. In this regard, the article considers the most promising special economic zones of the continent in terms of the development of Russia’s exports to the region – the SEZ of Panama. These zones offering their residents favourable conditions for business activities, could become regional “outposts” for increasing Russian exports to Latin American countries.
