Abstract:
The article analyzes the current problems of the modern furniture market development. It is concluded that a transformation of the world furniture market, which began at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, continues at the present time. The article reveals modern features of production, consumption and international trade in furniture, characterizes the furniture markets of individual countries and the Russian furniture market. Favorable trends in import substitution in furniture consumption in Russia are identified. Technological shift s in production, growth in e-commerce, environmental safety issues, and geopolitical factors are indicated as the leading factors determining the modern development of the world furniture market.
