Mapping of landscape - climatic complexes for responsible tourism at Lake Baikal

Abstract: Summarized information on mesoclimatic and landscape conditions in the Baikal region is represented on the thematic map ?Landscape-climatic resources of the recreational potential development in the Baikal Region? (scale 1:2 500 000). Natural-landscape complexes are characterized by different duration of exposure to favorable and unfavorable climatic factors. Combination of landscape and climatic conditions determine preferable recreational activities and schedule as well as the stability of natural complexes to recreational loads. Information about the accommodation facilities and services to visitors (number of objects, number of beds) is presented on the map, summarized for each administrative district of the RF subjects of the Lake Baikal shore.
