EXAMINING OF THE RELATIONSHIP STRUCTURE BETWEEN JOB AND SPECIAL LIFE (NONWORK) SATISFACTION WITH NONLINEAR CANONICAL CORRELATION ANALYSIS

Abstract: Life satisfaction has two essential subdimension that are job satisfaction and special life satisfaction. The subject of the relationship between these two basic subdimensions catch most of social scientists attention since 1950. With expectation of existing interaction between job satisfaction and special life satisfaction, different theoretical approaches developed. The basic objective of this study is to determine whether existing relationship between job satisfaction and special life satisfaction, and if there would be a relationship, to determine the level of that. After determining this relationship level, it will be investigated if there is any variation in this coefficient in different subgroups of demographical and job structurel features. In this study using Turkey Statistics Foundation life satisfaction survey data (2008) obtained findings with nonlinear canonical correlation analysis method. In consequence of the analysis the relationship coefficient between job and special life satisfaction is calculated as %66. The direction of relationship is interpretted beholding the hugeness of frequencies in crosstabs. As a result of this interpretation we can say that a positive relation like suitable to overflow approach could exist. According to the findings it could be observed that detected relationship level can vary in different groups. It could be suggested to examine the response oft he relationship coefficent. In this way the interpretations would be more realistic and reliable.
