Abstract:
The narrative techniques used in the fictional world have all been taken from real life. One of these techniques is called ìinner monologueî which is an act of thinking and individualsà speaking with themselves. This technique is used as a dialogue between ìegoî and ìsuperegoî in the novel of ìBrandungî published in 1985 by the German author Martin Walser. The methods of psychoanalysis and textual immanency have been dominantly used in this article; moreover, the construction of the technique mentioned above in WalserÃs novel, and its function in terms of the author, novel, protagonist, and reader have been studied.
