Abstract: Structural equation modeling (SEM) is a statistical approach used in testing hypothesis about causal relationships among measured and latent variables. It is a standard tool in psychology, sociology, marketing and education for investigating the feasibility of theorical models. In this article, a brief rewiev of basË c concepts and issues associated with SEM, identification parameter estimation and model testing, was presented. One specified example about consumer complain regarding the application of SEM was presented in the final part of the paper.
