Abstract:
Education is very important for everybody, for every industry and for every business field in today’s world. But the training and development of human resources is particularly important for the new, dynamic, strategic and fastly developing information technology (IT) sector. It’s expected that information technology companies consider training as a fundemental function and determine their strategies and policies relatively; allocate sufficient resources for training, prepare efficient training programs. In this study effectiveness level of training in the ITcompanies is explored. 44 Companies who are members of TUBISAD have participated in this study. The findings of this study are evaluated in sub-headings as the training policies, resources allacated to training, practices of companies to impnove the effectiveness of training. It’s concluded that IT companies in Turkey have to allocate moreresources as well as more effort and time to training and developing human resources.
