Abstract: Internet serves as a ground for academic misdemeanors while it also contributes to the development of science. Research studies show that Internet facilitates triggers and spreads academic dishonesty. The purpose of the current study is to scrutinize the notion of academic dishonesty facilitated through Internet (e-dishonesty), to raise awareness regarding the threats of e-dishonesty and to propose solutions. In this respect, factors constituting academic dishonesty, the prevalence of academic dishonesty, academic dishonesty facilitated through ICTand precautions to be taken are discussed.
