Abstract: This article is devoted to the problems of development of small and medium enterprises in rural areas of Ukraine. It is shown how the cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises can affect the overall development of rural areas and increase its competitiveness. The influence of agroholdings on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and cooperation in rural areas of Ukraine is shown. The influence of non-agricultural enterprises on the socio-economic development of rural areas is determined.
