Model of Health Promotion for Reducing Risky Behaviors of Preterm Birth in Teenage Pregnancy

Abstract: The participation action research objective was to create the health promotion model for prevention of preterm birth in teenage pregnancy and was used as a guideline for the prevention of preterm birth of 90 teenage pregnancy cases (13-19 years old) enrolled in the participatory process of this research. From December 2014 to May 2015, a questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data and qualitative data by interviewing and writing it in narrative sense. Data analysis and summary from quantitative and qualitative data were created as a model of health promotion for prevention of preterm birth in teenage pregnancy. The results showed that the model of health promotion in the prevention of preterm birth included the nurse as a consultant in a friendly way. There is a process to raise awareness for the prevention of preterm birth. Participants consisting of the following were taken to visit the premature baby room. Exchange of experience with the nurse was conducted. This research shows the importance of preventing preterm birth with health promotion. And found that the participants gave birth to infants with gestational ages between 37-40 weeks, 82 patients (91.1%) and 2884.5 g average birth weight of infants who were fed with breast milk, 88 cases (97.78%), which is a factor. The success factors were the nurse consultation and participatory teaching.
