Abstract:
Background: In Indonesia, 96% of women breastfeed their babies, but only 42% practice exclusive breastfeeding. In Tegal Regency, the exclusive breastfeeding rate in 2021 was 78.7%, while in Tegal City, it was 66.7%. Complementary midwifery care after delivery includes practices such as breastfeeding with hypnopressure, which combines acupuncture, moxibustion, and relaxation techniques to increase breast milk production. However, many healthcare providers, especially midwives, have not received knowledge and skills in this area. This activity aims to improve midwives' skills in breastfeeding with hypnopressure. Method: The participants of this activity were midwives from community health centers in Tegal City and Tegal Regency, with 15 participants attending. This community service activity took the form of a workshop. Participants took a pre-test before receiving the material, shared experiences related to postpartum services they had provided, were given material and practical training on breastfeeding with hypnopressure, and concluded with a post-test. Results: After the community service activity, there was an increase in participants' knowledge and skills related to breastfeeding with hypnopressure. Conclusion: Midwives who have gained this knowledge and skill are expected to apply it to their patients, particularly postpartum mothers, to facilitate breastfeeding.
