Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of characteristic features of the education system of developed countries and Russia in the modern postindustrial era. The priority of knowledge as a system-forming element of postindustrial society leads to new trends in educational processes. The authors’ study is focused on these transformations in the theory and practice of education.
