Abstract: This research paper aims at examining the role of technology in boosting economic activity and employment, by adopting different research methodologies and taking the Saudi economy as a case study. The research results support the notion that technological progress is a key factor in achieving development goals pertaining to economic growth and employment level. The study suggests that the leaders and policy-makers in Saudi Arabia should pay a great attention on adopting technology as a medium for achieving the social and economic development goals.
