Abstract:
"This paper examines the evolution of regional disparities in Poland between 1995 and 2022. As a result of its sustained economic growth, Poland has undergone a remarkable process of economic convergence with the more advanced EU countries. However, the country’s economic growth has not been accompanied by a reduction in regional disparities. Our analysis shows that, in the considered period, disparities in GDP per capita slightly widened, while average labour productivity levels converged. Polish economic geography is characterised by a persistent west-east divide in economic development, while the Warsaw district polarises the spatial distribution of average income"
