Abstract: This paper examines the influence of ISO 9000 certificates and total quality management (TQM) on creative thinking in a company. Previous studies show conflicting results. Some argue that these two increase creative thinking, while others suggest that quality programs suppress creativity. This research shows that quality programs support innovations. It also examines how TQM and ISO 9000 affect innovations. Companies using ISO and TQM have the highest income from new products on the market, then follow those using only TQM, and finally come those using only ISO. Namely, the impact of TQM on innovations is analysed in literature, while the impact of ISO 9000 is practically neglected. Comprehensive overview of literature on the subject of quality program and innovations provides basis for future research.
