Abstract:
Trading company Srdj was established in Dubrovnik seventy years ago and was the longest-lasting company which continuously operated for over thirty years. Its success in the period from 1946 through 1979 made it a leader in trade modernization in Dubrovnik and beyond. This company was known for introducing innovation, always keeping up with its counterparts in the developed European market economies under the given socio-political, i.e. legal framework. Through preserved documents this paper provides a memoir depicting trade in Dubrovnik after World War II and development of Srdj.
