Abstract:
The article is devoted to the development of theoretical and methodological provisions that make up the conceptual foundations of the economic security of the region. The article touches upon the issues of the interdisciplinary nature of the study of economic security and the need to use knowledge from the theory of systems, demography, and evolutionary biology. The research uses scientific methods of constructing concepts, descriptions, logic, and abstraction, as well as the method of analyzing materials. The main results of the study are reduced to the identification and disclosure of the essential components (integration, self-preservation, and adaptation) of the economic security of the region. The economic security of the object (using the example of the region) is proposed to be considered as a kind of carrier of a wide range of economic processes associated with this object, as well as self-preservation and adaptation practices of the object in their unity of manifestation. In addition, the necessity of applying an evolutionary approach to the study of the economic security of the region in the current transformational conditions is substantiated; modern prerequisites for this are identified and generalized. The following conclusion is made: the conceptual understanding of the economic security of the region should be based on the need to consider the region as a system entity having its population as the main basis, and as an object of evolution, which makes it possible to expand the possibilities to justify the economic security of the region from the standpoint of evolutionary economics.
