Abstract: This scientific article presents an analysis of methodologies for assessing the transportation infrastructure of regions, both in the global and domestic scientific literature. The underlying aim of this analysis is to identify existing problems and limitations in current methodologies. The primary goal of the research is to identify missing and fundamental aspects that should be considered in the development of an improved authorial methodology for assessing and comprehensively diagnosing the formation and spatial organization of transportation and communication infrastructure. Based on the analysis, the author comes to the understanding that the assessment methodology should encompass indicators that take into account various aspects of infrastructure development, rely on open data to ensure accessibility and transparency, and strive for universality, meaning it should be applicable for evaluating different regions and conditions.
