Bulletin of Political Economy, 2023, vol. 17, issue 2, 145-148

Abstract: This note and interview commemorates Robert M. Solow (1924–2023), a distinguished economist renowned for championing neoclassical economics while fostering dialogue with diverse viewpoints. In a 2009 interview, Solow analyzed the Great Recession, attributing its origins to financial instability and regulatory shortcomings. Solow also stressed the importance of public investment in education and research as essential drivers of innovation and long-term economic progres.
