GBP Proceedings Series, 2025, vol. 13, 111-122

Abstract: This study examines the competencies of dual-qualified teachers in the Big Data and Accounting program clusters of Hainan's higher vocational colleges within the context of industry-education integration and the Hainan Free Trade Port development. A multidimensional competency framework-encompassing knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practical experience-is constructed based on theoretical analysis and existing literature. Key challenges, including limited data-oriented expertise, insufficient enterprise engagement, traditional teaching methods, and inadequate incentive mechanisms, are identified. Targeted strategies are proposed, such as deepening school-enterprise cooperation, multi-level professional training, integrating courses with competitions and certifications, developing teaching resource repositories, and strengthening policy support. The study provides a systematic approach to enhancing dual-qualified teacher competencies, facilitating interdisciplinary instruction, and supporting the cultivation of accounting professionals equipped with data analysis skills, thereby contributing to regional industrial transformation and the sustainable development of vocational education.
