A Study on the Effectiveness of Translation Practice Teaching for English Majors under the Assistance of Digital Translation Tools

Yang Zhang

GBP Proceedings Series, 2025, vol. 15, 62-72

Abstract: This study investigates the effectiveness of translation practice teaching for English majors under the assistance of digital translation tools. Focusing on the integration of machine translation, computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, and corpus-based resources, the research proposes a human-machine collaborative teaching model that spans three stages: pre-translation preparation, translation execution, and post-translation reflection. The study emphasizes structured instructional design, teacher guidance, and multi-dimensional assessment strategies. A reference-based teaching case illustrates how phased tool use and process-oriented evaluation can enhance students' post-editing skills, critical thinking, and cross-cultural awareness. The findings highlight the potential of digital-assisted pedagogy to balance technological support with the cultivation of autonomous translation competence, offering practical insights for curriculum design and future research in higher education translation instruction.
