AIGC + VR Enables Public Art: Real-Time Generation of Urban Virtual Landscape and Public Participation Mode

Guangyou Yan

GBP Proceedings Series, 2025, vol. 8, issue None, 1-8

Abstract: This paper explores the integration of artificial intelligence-generated creation (AIGC) and virtual reality (VR) technologies in urban public art. By analyzing data from multiple pilot projects both domestically and internationally, it reveals how real-time generated virtual landscapes can inspire public participation through interactive design, and evaluates their profound impact on cultural identity and community cohesion. The article discusses new pathways for immersive interaction from two dimensions: user experience and participation loops. Based on heat maps, interviews, and behavioral logs from places like Kyoto and Shenzhen, it proposes a framework for social value assessment that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches. Finally, by combining the strengths and challenges of multiple city cases, it offers technical and management recommendations for sustainable operations, aiming to provide theoretical references and practical guidelines for the digital upgrade of public art.
