Abstract:
Green high-rise residential buildings have become a central focus in sustainable urban development, combining energy efficiency, environmental protection, and occupant comfort. This review examines principles, design strategies, and technological solutions for high-rise green residential buildings, considering architectural, structural, mechanical, and smart technologies. Urban context, site selection, and climate-responsive design are discussed alongside global and Chinese case studies, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned. The review further analyzes barriers such as cost, regulatory constraints, and technical limitations, while exploring opportunities for innovation through new materials, digital twins, and AI-based building management. The findings provide practical guidance for designers, developers, and policymakers, and identify directions for future research in high-rise green residential development.
