Abstract:
The concept of identity has become widespread within the social and behavioral sciences in recent years. It has been used by several disciplines from psychiatry and psychology to political science, sociology and economics. This richened to understand individuals who claim particular identities given their roles in a social context and groups they belong to. This article searches for the implications of identity in economics, which the mainstream economics constantly ignores.
