Abstract:
The facility management (FM) industry is the foremost contributor to a high-performance, productive and sustainable built environment through strategic and innovative management of facility services. When practised effectively and strategically, FM can be a major efficiency driver, supporting business requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance and achieving corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship goals. Doing so, however, requires well-qualified FM professionals to influence decisions and implement sustainability strategies to yield cost-savings, lower environmental impacts and provide comfortable, safe, healthy and productive workplaces.
