Workplace evolution: The new ecosystem of work

Corporate Real Estate Journal, 2015, vol. 4, issue 3, 199-206
Abstract:
Collaboration has been one of the most talked about ingredients of the modern workplace. But it is also one of the most over-used and misunderstood concepts as well. Many workers today find themselves in a sea of spaces with no safe harbours, unable to focus or concentrate and highly distracted. Many companies are realising that to create effective work environments they must understand how people truly function. It is essential that we find the right balance between open and closed space, formal and informal zones, and collaborative and concentrative areas. The right solution can vary from company to company based on their DNA — the key is to know thyself.
