Road to integrating facility management into corporate real estate management: Case study — Bayer

Corporate Real Estate Journal, 2019, vol. 8, issue 4, 355-363
Abstract:
This paper provides insights from the inner circle about how facility management (FM) has been embedded into corporate real estate (CRE) management at Bayer. It offers hints and learnings about how to overcome an historic established structure in a company which is more than 150 years old. A strong team with the support of internal partners and different external experts has been driving this process since 2016. The process took several years, different hurdles had to be passed and it is still ongoing. In the end, it even accelerated as a result of the merger of Bayer and Monsanto.
