Thwarting a cyber physical attack in the Internet of Things era

Bharat Mistry and William (Bill) Malik

Cyber Security: A Peer-Reviewed Journal, 2019, vol. 2, issue 4, 321-335

Abstract: While businesses and consumers see opportunity and efficiency in the billions of devices now connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cybercriminals also see an opportunity in the vulnerabilities created with each connection. This paper outlines three things you need to understand in order to prevent a cyber physical attack in the digitally connected world. The paper also highlights best practices you can use to implement the right mix of policy, architecture, training and technology to keep your organisation secure.
