Improving management quality in the global airport industry: A re-orientation towards value
David Feldman
Journal of Airport Management, 2007, vol. 1, issue 4, 370-376
Abstract:
The airport industry has undergone massive changes over past years, however, both the managers and the management of airports have gone largely unchanged. Insufficient attention has been paid to how airports should be managed, what types of leaders are required to manage airports and how their success should be measured. The leadership element of airport management is too often neglected. This paper evaluates the quality of management at airports, presents selected best practices and concludes with a series of proposed value-based measurement objectives for airport leaders.
