Ground handling opportunities for airports

Abstract:
An evolution is occurring at small and medium-sized hub airports. Some airports have elected to improve the service to their communities by providing a variety of ground handling services to the air carriers in their market. Other airports have determined that by providing ground handling services an airport can enhance overall airport revenues. While developing these types of activity, airport management must consider the positive and negative aspects of these activities and make a well-informed decision especially tailored to their airport, with strong consideration given to preparation, planning and implementation.
