Unravelling the UK airport capacity conundrum: A review of the main submissions made to the Airports Commission

Abstract: This paper attempts to unravel the mass of words and data that jointly comprise the main submissions made to the Airports Commission, which is currently debating the future for airport (runway) capacity in the UK, along with the even greater mass of opinion and comment surrounding what has become one of the most talked about subjects in aviation history. The paper is based on the executive summary of a management report entitled ‘UK Airport Capacity — Unravelling the Conundrum’ by David Bentley (Big Pond Aviation, 2013).
