Abstract:
Just as Wal-Mart knows where its customers live, so should an airport. Using data from Canada’s national household spending survey, Vancouver Airport Authority has gained an unprecedented insight into the factors that drive household spending on airline tickets at a neighbourhood level in its local market, including what appears to be the stimulative effect of an airport rail link on local spending on air travel.
