Airport technology systems in the design-build environment

Abstract: The design-build method for construction is increasingly being applied to the delivery of airport projects. This includes the technology systems that are necessary for the efficient operation of these facilities. Technology systems present a unique set of challenges to the design-builder, many of which will be new to contractors. This paper examines the issues associated with the design-build approach to technology in the airport market, and ways in which the design-builder can adjust and refine their approach to deliver projects more effectively.
