Journal of Business Continuity & Emergency Planning, 2007, vol. 1, issue 3, 252-260
Abstract:
Drawing on the author’s experience, the paper describes specific steps, tips and examples for building a business continuity infrastructure effectively. Focus is put specifically on defining support mechanisms for employee safety. Steps for how to plan business continuity processes, utilise threat assessments, implement recovery teams and communication channels, ensure effective leadership is in place and test processes are discussed. In addition, the paper identifies an example of gaps that were found in a business continuity plan, and subsequent improvements that were made to ensure an effective disaster recovery management system.
