Abstract:
There are many different forms of defect that could be associated with traditional cut timber roofs. Among such defects, one of the most commonly encountered roof-related failures includes roof spread. The purpose of this paper is to assist not only with identification of the different causes of roof spread but also to offer tangible solutions in typical cases encountered with due consideration to cost, physical constraints and disruptions to the occupants and possibly adjoining premises.
