Abstract: This paper provides a guide and reminder on how risk in ground conditions is dealt with in construction law and building and engineering contracts. It is aimed at contractors and employers under building contracts, and also surveyors, architects and engineers. Lawyers who do not specialise in construction law may find it helpful as an overview.
