Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of Rockville House, a Victorian-era structure situated in Dublin, focusing on its architectural characteristics and historical importance. The study explores the conservation challenges posed by previous alterations and the use of non-traditional materials in earlier repairs. In response, detailed restoration recommendations are provided, emphasising the application of traditional materials and techniques to preserve the building’s historical authenticity. The paper concludes by assessing the implications of these conservation strategies on the structural stability and heritage value of Rockville House.
