Transitioning between DAM systems: Applying the wisdom of Lewis Carroll
Charlie Ward Wright
Journal of Digital Media Management, 2012, vol. 1, issue 2, 149-157
Abstract:
This is a discussion of the steps necessary to move from an existing digital asset management (DAM) system and migrate to another DAM solution. It walks through the activities from analysing the current environment, assembling the correct team, planning the migration, cleaning up workflows and setting benchmarks for progress. It covers the process and resources necessary to ensure a smooth transition between asset management systems. The reader should be able to use the steps to plan and manage a DAM migration, from vendor selection to implementation and transition.
