Developing a strategy for Reuters’ archive: A case study
Ashley Byford-Bates
Journal of Digital Media Management, 2015, vol. 4, issue 1, 48-54
Abstract:
The background to this piece was a series of presentations that the author gave on ‘transforming, presenting and productising’, focusing on the challenges of managing the secondary market for content. This paper provides some insights into the market, the clients and how Reuters is seeking to address their requirements with new capabilities and content. In the fast turnaround news delivery space, productising the archive and enabling new revenue opportunities through the availability of historical content has its own unique set of challenges.
