Abstract:
As Hollywood leads the world in adopting the Interoperable Master Format (IMF) for media distribution, there are measurable financial and operational benefits of embracing the IMF methodologies in the underlying database and workflows of an enterprise media asset management system for versioning and localisation operations. This paper, drawn from a 2017 Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineering presentation and technical paper, addresses the practical requirements of full support for end-to-end IMF workflows and indicates where efficiencies and savings can be maximised.
