Abstract:
Starz, a premium cable channel and subscription video on demand network founded in 1994, took on a project to migrate its ingest workflow to a cloud-based media asset manager. It was a complex undertaking, involving multiple departments, software developers, product managers and vendors. This paper describes the project history, its genesis, its execution and its results. This paper also examines the business justification for this kind of a project and the issues inherent in replacing a long-standing business workflow.
