Abstract:
In 2020, the Lehigh University Libraries migrated their CONTENTdm and Digital Commons repositories to the Islandora 7 platform. This migration was the culmination of a three-year process that included an assessment of the digital repository landscape, the selection of a software platform, the choice of a vendor for support, the migration of content and metadata and a public launch. Due to concerns about platform stability, the Libraries embarked on another migration to the Islandora 2 platform in 2023, involving a similar process to the earlier migration. This case study addresses the challenges faced and the lessons learned from conducting multiple migrations over a short period of time.
