Abstract: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect in May 2018 and it will afford the industry more clarity about the companies' obligations to adopt appropriate organisational and technical measures in order to ensure the security of personal data. The objective of this paper is to give a clearer picture of the specific measures that controllers as well as processors may have to adopt under the new law.
