Abstract:
The biggest regulatory change for all public, private and voluntary sector organisations and companies within the European Union since the beginning of the 21st century is the forthcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation. The next 24 months will entail major turmoil and upheaval for any organisation or company that is ill-prepared for changes in the way it collects, processes and uses customer transaction data. This will have significant consequences in terms of business continuity and reputational risk as well as future investor, shareholder and stakeholder confidence.
