Journal of Payments Strategy & Systems, 2008, vol. 2, issue 4, 409-419

Abstract: The Financial Services Agency (FSA) is making efforts to enhance the security, efficiency and convenience of the payment and settlement systems on behalf of Japan's markets in order to strengthen their competitiveness. In 2007, the FSA performed an analytical study of Japan's payment and settlement systems and established objectives for strengthening them. This paper outlines the main findings of the study for the purpose of promoting discussions between the people concerned.
