Journal of Payments Strategy & Systems, 2014, vol. 8, issue 3, 307-315

Abstract: This paper aims to present the reader with an overview of mobile payments trends in the Arabian Gulf. The paper is the result of a detailed Payments Innovation Survey conducted by Network International (NI), a diverse payments services provider based in the United Arab Emirates. The survey was one of the first of its kind to be undertaken in the Middle East, and this paper focuses on the major mobile payments innovation outcomes of the study, namely, Mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) and Contactless and Digital/Mobile Wallets, as well as detailing future trend makers.
